The Monitoring PFT is involved with implementing the Basin Environmental Monitoring Plan (BEMP) to monitor the long-term status and trends in Basin environmental communities. Establishment of a basin-wide environmental monitoring plan is required under the OU-3 ROD. The monitoring program is critical to the successful implementation and evaluation of the Selected Remedy. Effectiveness of remedial actions and their effects on overall ecological improvement is also assessed.
